10-28-11 Color Theory Elizabeth Murray

Elizabeth Murray's pictures remind me of the stuff I used to draw as a kid! I like her work because its so fun and playful! the colors she uses in her work are alive and vibrant. She certainly has an interesting technique...her works are not really scribbles but more of vage or abstract figures. My pictures compared to Elizabeths, are similar in color but way different in shape. I love using color. its what I mostly do when working on a long project. My other two photos that I drew and captured with my camera show the content of complimentary colors like the red and green that are opposite from each other. That thing I drew is a center peice for a table or stove. I thought that the different vegatables in it were interesting.

10-7-11 line and value with William Kentridge

When I saw William's drawing I was amazed at how detailed his work was! I thought his pictures were beautiful! He uses great space and thick lines in his work which make them more expressive. Some of his pictures show some emotion in them. His works are so unique. William gives his pieces life. I would like to think that his work and mine are similar because I like to put alot of detail in my sketches and I want them to look interesting. I want to make them move like William does in his sketches.
