4-1-2012 Time and Place

A place that brings up positive memories for me is Lincoln Kansas. Lincoln is like my second home because when my brothers and I were little we used to go up there to my Grandma Donna. I can remember her old farm house and the little kittens she used to raise on her front porch. I was always excited to go to lincoln because that also meant that I would get to pet the horses she had and go out to eat and then go shopping. I still go up to Lincoln to this day.

A place that makes me stressed is my dad's old work place. The first job my brothers and I had ever had were being janitors at the old Franklin Building in Salina. When I look back now I know that I was fortunate to have that job but at the time I really hated it. My brothers and I would have to go either in the morning or at night and we would be cleaning this old school for about 3 to 4 hours. If we didnt do a good job my dad would have us go back and clean the rooms again. I vacumed and my brothers cleaned that bathrooms and my dad did the toliets.

A place that identifies me would be Indian Rock in Salina. It was close to my house and it was where I used to go when I wanted to exersize or just get away from the house. I would scoop up my inhaler and my mp3 and off I would go. There were multiple places to hike and run. It was also a calm enviorment for me. Sometimes my friends and I would go up to Indian Rock for picknicks and games. I still go there to this day.

Friday
3:30 p.m. Jordan and I went to go borrow a glow-in-the-dark frisbee from my friend Cody.
4:00p.m. I go back to the dorms and take a 2 hour nap
6:00p.m. Jordan wakes me up to sneak into the cafeteria before it closes
6:30 p.m. Jordan and I finish eating and then I sneak out a chocolate ice cream cone from the cafeteria :P
7:00 p.m. Wait to go to Jordan's friend's art-show. So to waste time we practice our frisbee skills until hes ready to come get us
7:30 p.m. Jordan schools me in frisbee while we still wait.
8:00p.m. Jordan and I start to worry so we decide to take measures into our own hands and go look for her friend so we can go to his art show. We wanted to use the bikes outside of Mcmindes to look for him but someone flattened all the tires on the school bikes to our dissapointment. So we ended up walking to Rarick Hall. WE ALSO GOT TO PET A PUPPY!!! it made my night. :)
8:30 p.m. Jordan and I give up looking for Hose so we walk back to Weist and I decide to go bug my friend Cody in Mcmindes while Jordan goes back to Weist.
9:00 p.m. My friend Cody and I decide to walk back to Weist to play frisbee with Jordan and Daniel. We walked in to see Jordan and Daniel stuffing their faces with pepperoni pizza from pizza hut. The room was in shambles and I made up my mind to clean the next day. American dad was on TV.
9:30p.m. Jordan gets the brilliant idea to stick glow-in-the-dark stars to the frisbee and adhere them to it by sticking it in the lamp. (great idea jordan...)
10:00p.m. Jordan, Cody, and I went outside to try out the frisbee and see if it would glow. It worked for about 5 minutes and then the stars started falling off so we made a spur-of-the-moment desicion to create an adventure and walk to the park.
10:30 p.m. Daniel shows up to the park spontainously with pepsi in his hand.
11:00p.m. All four of us are still at the park playing on the playground and conversing about apocalyptic events. Jordan and Daniel decided that if anyone pulled any shenanigans during this apocalypse then they would be killed on site. I would be the medic. Cody would be there for comic relief.
12:00 a.m. Cody gets a text from his friend and we all decide to leave and walk back to Weist.
12:30 a.m. Jordan and Daniel stay in our dorm room watching pewdie pie on youtube and Cody and I go back to his room in Mcmindes to get ready to go to church. Cody's friend Kyle was signed up for an all-night prayer session at his church and Cody and I decided to go along.
1:00 a.m. We get to the church and walk in the back door and go pray for 30 minutes.
1:30 a.m. Everyone is done praying and Cody and Kyle decided that the night was still young so they took me hostage and we all went to Wal-mart.
2:30 a.m. Still at Wal-mart. Im about to fall asleep on the floor while Cody and Kyle are looking at the 5$ CD bin. When I closed my eyes I get wacked by a pillow from Kyle. They wanted to be sure that I was still awake.
3:00 a.m. Im finally set free to go back to Weist and I get back to the room to wake Jordan up and tell her about my night.
3:30 a.m. Crash and sleep till 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. Jordan woke me up.

For my project Im going to try to draw something simple and something I know how to draw well. I don't want my peice to be all over the place. Steven Carrelli's work is simple and well done and thats how I want my work to turn out.
